FALL RIVER \u2014 The Fall River waterfront is poised for a renaissance\u00a0with the multi-million\u00a0Route 79\/Davol Street Corridor Improvement<\/a>\u00a0state project under way, the revitalization of the\u00a0City\u00a0Pier<\/a>\u00a0and a host of private\u00a0ventures along the Taunton River.<\/p>\n

But what of the\u00a0underused\u00a0Fall River\u00a0State Pier\u00a0at 1 Water St.,\u00a0with\u00a0its more than 8 acres\u00a0of prime waterfront property\u00a0and its\u00a0deep-water\u00a0port?\u00a0And how does it fit in with future debates about the redevelopment of the city\u2019s waterfront?<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we\u2019re going to be honest with ourselves, we have to take a look at everything,\u201d said\u00a0Ken Fiola, executive vice president of the Bristol County Economic Development Consultants, whose agency is currently providing administrative services to the Fall River Line Pier Inc., the nonprofit that oversees the State Pier and its tenants.<\/p>\n
