FALL RIVER \u2014 The Great Feast of the Holy Ghost of New England<\/a> \u2014 arguably the largest event honoring the Azores<\/a>\u2019 religious and cultural traditions in the United States \u2014 will return to Kennedy Park<\/a> in Fall River<\/a> from Aug. 21 to 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrated since 1986, the festivities are elaborate and include an ethnographic parade<\/a>, distribution of food to the poor<\/a>, crowning procession<\/a>, crafts, music concerts and a banquet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone is welcome and encouraged to join us,\u201d said 2024 Great Feast President Herberto Silva. \u201cOur feast belongs to the whole community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Historically, the celebration draws more than 100,000 visitors, from as far as Canada and Portugal, though Silva said \u201cWe\u2019re hoping to have a bigger feast than last year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
