The park was conceived as a lasting tribute to the men and women from Fall River who served in the armed forces, spanning conflicts from the Revolutionary War to the present day. Over the years, it has become a cherished gathering place where residents and visitors alike come to honor and reflect upon the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.

In addition to monuments to the Korean War, the War on Terror and Gold Star Families, the park features a replica of the Iwo Jima Memorial at Arlington Cemetery, and a 80% to-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington DC. The opening of the wall has established Bicentennial Park as a place of pilgrimage for veterans, military families and those with an interest in military history. The City of Fall River and veterans organizations frequently use the parks for ceremonies and memorial events, and a concert band performs in front of the Iwo Jima memorial on the Fourth of July each year.

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the captivating military history of Fall River, Massachusetts! Fall River holds a distinguished place in American military history and is located within […]

[569,151

post-24364","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-attractions","category-visit
["GET
