EXPLORE NATURE\u2019S PLAYGROUND<\/h2>\n

Copicut Woods is an ideal destination for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Its combination of walking and biking trails, diverse ecosystems, vernal pools, and a scenic reservoir make it an attractive place to explore and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors.\u00a0 The area also houses a 150-year-old stone-wall-lined scenic cart path open for exploration.<\/p>\n

Access is available in the Southern part of the city by way of Copicut Road. The entire area spans 516 acres, and there are lots of different trails to explore for a variety of different skill levels. Start with the Meadowhawk Trail, a scenic 1.6 mile loop that takes roughly 30 minutes to complete. Want something more challenging? Try the Cedar Swamp Trail, an 8.5 mile loop that takes around 3 hours to complete.<\/p>\n

Copicut Woods is also a great area for a day of shore fishing! Catch Bass, Yellow Perch, Pickerel, Sunfish and more while watching the sun set over the Copicut Reservoir. Please note that there are no kayaks or boats allowed in the reservoir, promising a quiet and secluded environment.<\/p>\n

LANDSCAPES<\/h2>\n

Watuppa Pond is a great area for adventurers who love to spend time out on the water. Watuppa Pond has boat launches for a relaxing day of boating with your family, fishing with your friends, or kayaking and exploring on your own. Fishing supplies can be purchased at nearby Main Bait & Tackle Shop at 2599 South Main Street if you run out of worms.<\/p>\n

Located at the end of Jefferson Street, there\u2019s enough parking for about fifty vehicles, and easy waterway access is provided by a paved boat ramp.<\/p>\n

There are no outdoor tables at South Watuppa, but there\u2019s plenty of room to spread out a blanket for a makeshift picnic.<\/p>\n

When hungry after a day of fresh air and outdoor activity, head over to Pier 52 at 52 Ferry Street for some of the city\u2019s freshest seafood and assortment of fine wines. For more traditional American Fare, head across the street to the Tipsy Seagull, a seasonal outdoor floating bar! Both venues offer spectacular waterfront views and outdoor dining options.<\/p>\n

After your meal, take a short walk over to the Bicentennial Trail and Boardwalk to view the ships anchored in Battleship Cove. Ready for dessert?\u00a0 Check out the Fall River Carousel and Creamery for a quick cone or take a short drive over to Nonno\u2019s Ice Cream Shoppe across from Ruggles Park (where there\u2019s a basketball court and multi-age playground area.)<\/p>\n
