FALL RIVER — Who says you need to wait until December, or Thanksgiving even, to get in the Christmas spirit?
Viva Fall River is bringing the holiday cheer to downtown Fall River a bit early this year with the debut of its Thanksmas Pre-Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 13.

“We wanted to do an event to kick off the holidays in Fall River,” said Patti Rego, district director of Viva Fall River, which is organizing Thanksmas along with the city of Fall River and the Craftyish Shop.
So in an effort to get the cheery season rolling — and net a wider array of vendors — Thanksmas was born. “It’s not just holiday focused … you can come and buy some great, unique gifts and celebrate the end of this year,” Rego said.
