The Children’s Room invites our middle grade readers (ages 8-12) to join our monthly book club! On the third Tuesday of every month, we will meet to discuss the assigned title which will be chosen from a selection of popular fiction and nonfiction. This month's titles are books 2 and 3 of the Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan  Each month’s title and any related materials will be announced and distributed at the end of the previous session.

Whether you're a painter, sculptor, photographer, or any other type of artist, this event is for you! Meet fellow artists, exchange tips and tricks, and maybe even find your next creative partner. SoCo Art Labs is the perfect venue for this event. Fall River's first and only artist coworking space, it is located on Globe Street, and provides a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere for artists to come together. Don't miss out on this chance to expand your artistic network and make lasting connections. There is private off street parking in the lot behind the building on King St. Mark your calendar and get ready for a night of creativity and camaraderie at the Soco Art Labs Artist Networking Event! There is no registration necessary and no fee to join us, however, if you wish to make a donation to help support SoCo Art Labs and SoCo Art Gallery, it will be greatly appreciated.

Danish Woven Paper Heart Craft

Join us for a very “hygge” (the Scandinavian term for cozy, comfy, low-tech activities enjoyed with friends) evening creating Danish woven paper hearts. These simple but attractive hearts can be used as holders for gift cards or candies, as place markers for dinners, or simply as a Valentine's Day decoration.  This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Fall River Public Library.  Please register by calling the adult circulation desk at 508-324-2700, ext. 2.  Registration begins on Tuesday, January 7 at 10 am.

It's Pokemon Community Day 2025 at the Fall River Public Library.  Join us for one or all of the exciting events we have scheduled! 11:00 am - 12:00pm, Meet & Greet with Pikachu, Fell Room 12:00pm- - 1:00pm, Pokemon Face Painting, Children's Room 1:00pm - 2:00pm,  Oddish Craft, Meeting Room In addition, a Pokemon Scavenger Hunt will be on-going in the library from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.  Children locating all 5 hidden Pokemon  will be eligible to win 1 of 3 great Pokemon gifts!  Official Entry blanks can be found in the Children's Room!  All events are for ages 12 and under.

Our monthly Magic: the Gathering group meets on the last Wednesday of each month.* Come play a few games in the world's most popular trading card game! Participants are invited to bring their own decks or build their own with a selection of the hundreds of cards we have at the library. Don't know how to play? We'll be glad to show you how! This program is intended for teens ages 12 to 18. No prior experience with the game is required to participate. We'll be meeting in the Fell Reading Room in the library. *If the last Wednesday of the month falls on a holiday, the meetup will be rescheduled, probably to the week before.
