JAZZ TIMES MAGAZINE hails his playing as “teeming with intricate grooves and maniacal precision his guitar work is both beautiful and complex” and VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE described his style by stating “Jazz, rock, and folk music peacefully coexist in Charlie Ballantine’s world”. Calling all mushroom enthusiasts! Join us for a Mushroom Walk with mycologist Aaron Keaton. After a rainy summer season, wild mushrooms are thriving along the trails of Copicut Woods! This walk is ideal for beginners, but experienced foragers are also welcome! About Aaron: Aaron Keaton, a Keene State College graduate, developed a deep appreciation for the natural world, especially mushrooms, during his explorations in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. He is an avid hiker, who can often be found on trails photographing each and every mushroom he comes across. Currently based out of his hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Aaron works to document and conserve fungi, as well as teach others. He shares his experience and knowledge with the community through presentations, walks, and workshops across New England. His work emphasizes the intricate relationship between fungi and ecosystem health, while also exploring the profound impact fungi have on humanity, through topics such as food, medicine, and culture. Her sound simply never stands still, she’s pushing limits, bending genres, and reinventing her music and herself with each new record. “It’s really hard to believe that twenty years ago, I gave up a career in graphic design, formed the Ana Popovic band, and decided to be a full-time musician. She regularly plays theaters across the country, hosts a weekly comedy podcast, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone, and is a regular panelist on NPR’s Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me. Paula has starred in several HBO specials, including Cats, Cops and Stuff, which nabbed a cable ACE award for Best Comedy Special. She was the first female comic to host the White House Correspondents Dinner. She filed live coverage of the 1992 Democratic and Republican National Conventions and the Presidential Inaugural for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and at the 93rd Emmy Awards. In this three-part series, we will promote strong bonds for the attendees, facilitating the connections, networks, and safe spaces that help writers to thrive. By merging writing with outreach, we can create geographic and social connections between communities. There is documented evidence that writing in community strengthens the social fabric. Thursday, October 24, 2024 $63 Advance | $68 Day of Show Doors 7pm | Show 8pm The incredible harmonies and distinctive arrangements of The Jayhawks set them apart from the rest of the Minneapolis music scene that emerged in the 1980s. Over the course of almost 4 decades, 11 albums, countless memorable live shows and enough personal drama to fill a couple of Behind the Music episodes, this beloved band soared to heights few ever achieve while winning the hearts and minds of numerous critics, fans and peers in the process. After releasing 2 Indie albums in the 80s, The Jayhawks had become a driving force and inspiration behind the growing Americana movement in the early 1990s. Combining the talents of singer-songwriters Gary Louris and Mark Olson, The Jayhawks released their major label debut, the acclaimed Hollywood Town Hall (1992) on the Def American label. This was followed by Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995), which produced the alternative radio hit single “Blue.” The Jayhawks have made music in 4 different decades and are as vital now as they were in 1985. They definitely have earned their reputation as a true American treasure.
