Trunk or Treat Fundraiser for the Animals

We’re thrilled to invite you to our Trunk or Treat Fundraiser on October 27th from 11 AM to 3 PM in our shelter parking lot, located at 474 Durfee St, Fall River, MA. This event will take place rain or shine—if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move indoors! 🎃👻🕸️ Here’s what we have planned: 🚗Trunk or Treating with decorated vehicles 🎨Fun Halloween Crafts 🎯Themed Games 📸Photo booth 🐶Meet Our Adoptable Animals🐱 🐾Costume Contest—cast your vote for the best-dressed animal! 🎟️Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event: Adult Admission: $10 Child Admission: $5 🫶🏻Every ticket sold helps support the care of our animals. Come join us in the Children’s Room for a casual, fun, family-oriented activity. Children can use glow-in-the-dark skeleton, bat, and assorted Halloween beads to create their own spooky, glowing bracelet just in time for trick-or-treating!  All supplies will be provided and available at the tables in the non-fiction section of the Children’s Room. Due to the small size of the beads, this event is not ideal for children under the age of four. Adult supervision is recommended. A night with the Azorean Green Bean herself, presented by the Zeiterion and Bristol Community College! Learn about the rich – and delicious – culinary history of the Azores with renowned cook, author and PBS host Maria Lawton. She’ll be joined by Ricardo Farias has agreed to interview Maria Lawton on stage during the “talk show” portion of the event. You may know Ricardo from his work on WJFD, The Portuguese Channel, RTP International, and now RTP, Portugal's public broadcasting organization, which operates both television channels and radio stations. She'll enlighten your pantry with historical insights into the traditional ingredients from the Azores, exploring how oils, spices, fish and preparation techniques have been woven into dishes throughout generations. Large screens will allow the audience to follow Maria as she explains their cultural and culinary significance with Michael Benevides, owner of Portugalia! Interviewing Maria on stage will be Ricardo Farias!
