Samantha Charles, a recipient of FRACC's 2024 Ignition Fund Grant brings her vision to life at the Ignition Space’s 1923 Room. This exhibition is an open diary that Samantha is sharing with the world. It explains how she’s come to love art through her family and friends and invites others to use art as an outlet to navigate their thoughts and emotions. Learn about Samantha’s story through her mixed-media art and how art doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be powerful or meaningful. This project is supported in part by FRACC through the TDI Creative Catalyst Grant. The Fall River Arts & Culture Coalition Program is administered by Mass Development and funded by the Barr Foundation.

Join us to learn about the owls that breed in Massachusetts! We will talk about how to identify owls by call, where to find them, and how owls can successfully hunt at night. We will take our skills to the trail and listen for owls on the paths of Copicut Woods. While we’ll keep our ears tuned and eyes peeled for the elusive owls that call this area home, nature doesn’t always follow a script, so sightings or sounds are not guaranteed. Along the way, we’ll also be on the lookout for other creatures of the night that thrive after dark. This immersive nighttime experience is an exciting opportunity to connect with the wonders of the natural world. First time at Copicut? This will be an easy to moderate walk along dirt trails with slight inclines in some areas. You can expect semi-rocky terrain and exposed roots in some areas of the trail. The path taken will be determined based on where we are most likely to hear or see wildlife. Pre-registration is required for this event. For more information or to get tickets, visit: https://thetrustees.org/event/425066/

Adam Ezra will joke with you that while the “nowhere” part might be accurate, nothing has ever just “popped” for this folk musician, activist. Without resources, connections, or any kind of clue how the music world works, Ezra began playing shows over 20 years ago. When music venues wouldn’t hire him, he played bars, bookstores, fields, and parking lots, often raising money for causes he cared about; a practice that grew into his […]
