Chris Page will talk about his 8-month artist project exploring the Taunton River. Driving from bridge to bridge from the headwaters in Bridgewater to Fall River, Chris Page photographed upstream and downstream at every bridge capturing upwellings, vortexes and the patterns that emerge from flowing water. In his studio, he transformed his experiences of the water into paintings, drawings and photographic collections. His observations led to the creation of ‘Titicut Constellations’ a vertical 7.5-foot painting with origins in the oxygen bubbles that form constellations flowing along the river conjuring images of star formations in the cosmos. The Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition (FRACC) is excited to support this event through our Ignition Project, made possible by the TDI Creative Catalyst Grant Program, administered by MassDevelopment and funded by the Barr Foundation.
