Dr. Steven Frechette is an Associate Professor of Cybersecurity and serves as the Department Chair of Computer Information Systems at Bristol Community College. He develops and teaches advanced online courses covering networking technologies, cybersecurity, firewalls, operating systems, virtualization, and risk management.
As the Department Chair, Dr. Frechette leads a team of four full-time and seven part-time faculty members. He has been instrumental in achieving the National Security Agency’s National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense designation for Bristol’s Cybersecurity program. Additionally, he is introducing new degree and certificate programs in Artificial Intelligence, set to begin in the Fall of 2025.
Dr. Frechette recently published a research paper, “Assessing Student Perceptions of Artificial Intelligence Within The Community College System,” which he presented at the 64th Annual IACIS conference in Florida. His research examines factors like age, gender, academic division, and employment status to understand students’ readiness for adopting AI in educational settings.
