FALL RIVER — Globally renowned brand Matouk is entering a new epoch of luxury bedding and linens. Its storefront at 925 Airport Road welcomes customers with an elevated charm; the attached factory cuts, sews and customizes with high-end, imported machinery, where its diverse staff of about 310 multi-talented artisans snip, string and stitch. Its factory outlet serves SouthCoast shoppers, and it’s unveiled its first flagship store in New York City.
And unlike some companies, ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, Matouk has boomed.
Recently, Matouk was awarded a $100,000 grant as part of the Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program in partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that matches the cost of purchasing capital equipment. The new pièce de resistance? An Israeli-built “twined X4 digital thread dying machine” that can color match, customize and save on wasted “greige,” or raw thread, with impeccable precision, said COO Milt Goncalves.
The coveted machine is one of only five worldwide, leveling Matouk with a new tier of competitors, like Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren Polo.
