The “Taste Of Portugal” tour takes you on an excursion to sample incredible Portuguese food and drinks, as we stroll the streets of the city that boasts the largest Portuguese population outside of Portugal. Join us for this special collaboration between New Bedford Food Tours and Viva Fall River to experience the authentic and exceptional qualities that make Fall River a must-stop South Coast destination.
The “Taste of Portugal” takes guests on an engaging journey into the cultural and historical context of the foundational and thriving Portuguese community of Fall River. During this 1.5-mile guided gastronomic cultural tour of Columbia Street, participants will sample food and/or drink at 5 curated stops, tasting a variety of classic Portuguese food and learning about the country’s history and culture along the way. The tour includes bakeries, markets, and restaurants that have been ensconced in the community for many years and have played a pivotal role in the development of the area into a Portuguese enclave.
Each tour is limited to 10 people to provide an intimate and enjoyable experience, and is offered on select Saturdays from 12:00-3:00pm, on the following dates in 2024:

Tickets are $80/per person and includes all tastings, restaurant tips, and an engaging and knowledgeable guide. This is a walking tour, covering approximately 1 mile of moderate walking (including uphill).
