“FALL RIVER — Roll out the red carpet — or green carpet, rather.
A TV show dedicated to helping folks of all ages enjoy the outdoors and appreciate nature recently spotlighted Fall River as a hidden gem.
Now, you can join fellow Fall River-ites and watch together as “Explore New England” uncovers the “Spindle City surprises that await outdoor enthusiasts, recreational visitors, and locals alike.”
The 27-minute episode, titled “Fall River Rising,” first debuted on NESN and the ENE YouTube channel in December, and will make its local debut at a special screening organized by Viva Fall River next week.
“Fall River isn’t necessarily the first South Coast destination people think of when they hear the words ‘outdoor recreation.’ But Viva Fall River is working to change that,” a news release from the city tourism organization states.
A free public screening of “Fall River Rising” will take place Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at Fall River’s new Ignition Space, 44 Troy St.
The “Explore New England” TV series, hosted by Mattapoisett resident Tom Richardson, spotlights outdoor activities across the region, and the people who enjoy them.
Since its start in 2017, the show has created TV episodes showcasing outdoor adventure fun tourists can find in small towns and big cities across all six New England states. They focus on natural attractions and family-friendly, easily accessible activities such as ATV riding, fishing, hiking, kayaking, boating, wildlife viewing and more.”
